
Mr. Zheng has been a prominent figure in the international arbitration community for over 25 years, establishing himself as one of China's most renowned and respected international dispute lawyers. He has represented more than 400 China and foreign-seated international cases as counsel, including approximately one hundred transnational and foreign-related cases. He has extensive experience with CIETAC, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, ICC and SCC arbitrations, as well as court litigations in Mainland China, Hongkong, London and the United States. Some of his representative cases include representing ZTE for US investigation on its alleged violation of sanctions against Iran, representing PetroChina for its arbitration case in SIAC and representing the Government of Yemen against Beijing Urban Construction Group on an ICSID case.
He has established strong professional and personal relationships with an array of key players across various sectors. These relationships span state-owned enterprises, national and international companies, government agencies, and chambers of commerce across different countries. Among his clientele are hundreds of central state-owned enterprises, showcasing the trust and reliance placed in his expertise by major entities such as PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, Sinochem, Sinosure, China Mobile, CRCC, and CSC. Furthermore, Patrick's client roster also features leading private companies, including tech giants Huawei, ZTE, and the multinational conglomerate Fosun International Limited, underscoring his broad appeal and the high regard in which he is held within both the state and private sectors.
Mr. Zheng is recognized as one of the select attorneys proficient in both Chinese and English law, bringing substantial experience in transnational dispute resolution and international investment law to his practice. Before transitioning into private practice, he dedicated eight years to working at CIETAC, laying a solid foundation in arbitration and legal proceedings.
