As the tenth anniversary of the implementation of China’s Anti-Domestic Violence Law coincides with the upcoming International Women’s Day, Kingland Partners was invited to visit Laoshansili Community in Shijingshan District, Beijing, on March 6, 2026, to conduct a public legal awareness lecture themed “Oppose Domestic Violence, Safeguard a Better Life.” The event aimed to promote the protection of women’s rights and strengthen the rule-of-law safeguards against domestic violence, offering community women a professional legal “shield.”

During the lecture, lawyer Lin Jingu of Kingland Partners centered the discussion on the Anti-Domestic Violence Law, dispelling the common misconception that domestic violence only refers to physical assault. He provided a clear explanation of the various forms of domestic violence—including physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as economic control—helping the audience recognize the hidden nature and serious harm of such conduct.
Drawing on typical cases released by the Supreme People’s Court, Lin explained the law through practical examples. He elaborated on key legal issues in domestic violence rights protection, including the criminal characterization of severe psychological abuse as the crime of abuse, the rapid application of personal safety protection orders, the determination of legitimate self-defense in domestic violence situations, and the legal recognition and valuation of domestic labor. Through these explanations, complex legal provisions were translated into accessible and practical guidance.
During the interactive session, Lin patiently answered questions from participants and provided practical legal advice tailored to their concerns.
This public legal awareness initiative not only commemorates the tenth anniversary of the implementation of the Anti-Domestic Violence Law, but also represents a meaningful effort to bring the rule of law closer to the community. Kingland Partners remains committed to its professional mission and actively fulfills its social responsibilities. Looking ahead, the firm will continue to carry out public legal education initiatives, using the power of the rule of law to safeguard the rights and interests of various groups and to help build harmonious and thriving communities.
