On the afternoon of January 30, 2026, Attorney Hu Yang was invited to speak at the Society, presenting an insightful session that combined strong theoretical depth with practical expertise. The lecture, themed “Breaking the Deadlock in Talent Agency Agreements: Legal Characterization, Termination Pathways, and Strategic Offense and Defense,” attracted a large audience of professionals from the legal community, the entertainment agency industry, and related sectors.

The lecture provided a systematic analysis of the core issues in talent agency contracts. Attorney Hu first clarified the legal characterization of such agreements as “hybrid contracts,” then outlined three legitimate pathways for contract termination, examined the risks related to liquidated damages and the allocation of rights arising from termination, and proposed both non-litigation and litigation strategies in response. Grounded in practical experience, the presentation offered clear guidance for the healthy development of the industry and was highly praised by participants.

As a senior attorney with extensive experience in the film and television, media, internet technology, and intellectual property sectors, Attorney Hu Yang has long been committed to providing precise and efficient legal solutions for the industry. He is also a specially appointed member of the “Professional Lecturers Group” of the Beijing Society for Cultural and Entertainment Law. Going forward, Kingland Partners will continue to focus on cutting-edge legal issues in the cultural and entertainment industry and contribute to its healthy and sustainable development through professional sharing, practical seminars, and other initiatives.
