Kingland Partners and the School of Humanities of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Conduct “Enterprise Visit for Employment Expansion” Exchange

On December 19, a delegation of faculty members and students from the School of Humanities of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) visited Kingland Partners for an exchange activity under the “Enterprise Visit for Employment Expansion” program. Participants from Kingland Partners included Founding Partner Lin Huawei, Partners Li Xinge and Xu Qi, Counsel Xu Lian, and Administrative Director Chen Xiaoxuan. The BUCM delegation was led by Wu Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, and included Yang Fengzhu, Party Committee Member and Director of the Department of Law, Employment Officer Ali, Liu Anran, Secretary of the Graduate Student Party Branch of the School of Humanities, as well as student representatives. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, internships and employment, and legal services in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

 

 

Founding Partner Lin Huawei extended a warm welcome to the BUCM delegation. He noted that the development of traditional Chinese medicine requires the safeguard of the rule of law, and that law firms, as front-line providers of legal services, are willing to work with universities to cultivate interdisciplinary professionals with combined expertise in law and medicine. He introduced Kingland Partners’ strengths in pharmaceutical and healthcare, intellectual property, and compliance, and expressed his expectation for deepened cooperation with the School of Humanities of BUCM.

 

Drawing on his practical experience, Li Xinge shared representative cases involving intellectual property protection and corporate compliance in the TCM sector, and analyzed the industry’s concrete demand for professionals with both legal training and a background in Chinese medicine. Xu Qi then provided a systematic overview of the firm’s talent recruitment and development pathways, including the structure of internship positions and the market prospects for legal services in the TCM field, emphasizing Kingland Partners’ commitment to systematic talent development and long-term career growth. Focusing on life sciences and data compliance, Xu Lian discussed the potential of legal services in light of current regulatory trends, and proposed specific ideas for research collaboration and joint curriculum development in related areas.

 

Wu Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception by Kingland Partners. He briefly introduced the history, development, and disciplinary strengths of the university and the School of Humanities, noting that the School has established an integrated undergraduate–master’s–doctoral training system in pharmaceutical and healthcare law, dedicated to cultivating interdisciplinary professionals with dual expertise in law and traditional Chinese medicine. He emphasized that this “enterprise visit” initiative not only expands internship and employment channels for students, but also builds a collaborative platform for future talent development. Yang Fengzhu, Director of the Department of Law, remarked that demand for legal services in the TCM sector continues to grow, and expressed hope for closer cooperation with Kingland Partners in legal practice and case studies to better align legal education with industry needs.

 

The two sides subsequently engaged in practical discussions on talent cultivation models and internship mechanisms. During the open exchange session, student representatives actively raised questions and interacted in depth with the lawyers on topics such as career planning and professional practice, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

 

 

Prior to the symposium, the BUCM faculty and students, accompanied by Lin Huawei, toured Kingland Partners’ offices. The bright, open workspace and the cultural exhibition areas reflecting the firm’s professional heritage together created a focused yet humanistic working environment. Through detailed explanations, the visitors gained a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s development history, areas of expertise, and service model.

 

This exchange represents a proactive initiative by Kingland Partners to collaborate with universities and promote the cultivation of specialized professional talent. Through in-depth dialogue with the School of Humanities of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Kingland Partners further clarified its role and responsibilities in developing legal service talent for the TCM sector, while providing students with a practice-oriented platform for learning and growth. Looking ahead, Kingland Partners will continue to deepen cooperation with universities, jointly building a “law firm–university” collaborative talent cultivation mechanism and continuously supplying the TCM industry with interdisciplinary professionals possessing both strong professional competence and practical capabilities to support its rule-of-law-based development.
